Axle Mounted Brake DISC

Jai Dadi Group has entered into a technical collaboration with ECOMECHANICS, BRAZIL to manufacture/supply Brake Disc in India.

The brake discs for high speed applications are critical parts of safety. They should possess robust design and high resistance to vibration and temperature variations for a stable friction coefficient over wide range of speeds. To reduce the maintenance cost, brake discs are also expected to have extremely long lifetime.

The railway brake system controls deceleration of multiple linked cars of a rolling stock. It is actuated by compressed air which pushes pads onto brake discs.

Introduction

The axle –mounted brake disc consists of a grey cast iron friction ring and a cast steel hub, connected by means of radically arranged elastic resilient sleeves which are secured in the hub by means of hexagon screws. The friction ring is manufactured as a solid component or in a split version. In the latter case, the two halves are held together by two tight –fit screws.

Features
  • The axle- mounted brake discs are ring-shaped castings with crosswise cooling ribs.
  • Each axle is equipped with two brake discs.
  • The brake energy is dissipated only at the brake discs.
  • The braking force is generated for each disc by a brake caliper unit.
